NoteThe source directly confirms the existence of 'RAND Project AIR FORCE' as a research division within RAND's organizational structure. The name matches exactly, it is listed as an active division with current leadership and operational programs. The record's classification as 'type: department' is slightly imprecise (the source calls it a 'Research Division' rather than 'department'), but this is a minor semantic distinction that does not contradict the core claim. The status 'active' is confirmed by the presence of current leadership and active programs.
