[Navigating Transformative AI] Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $2,537,600 over two years to the Centre for the Governance of AI (GovAI), via the Centre for Effective Altruism, to support activities related to building the field of AI governance research. GovAI intends to use this funding to conduct AI governance research and to develop a talent pipeline for those interested in entering the field. This follows our May 2020 support and falls within our focus area of potential risks from advanced artificial intelligence.
