Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $2,250,000 over two years to the National Council for Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls (National Council) for general support. The National Council is a network of women impacted by incarceration focused on ending the incarceration of women and girls—a fast-growing incarcerated population—through a mix of relationship building, research, leadership training, and advocacy work. This follows our September 2019 support and falls within our focus area of criminal justice reform. The grant amount was updated in April 2020.
