Open Philanthropy recommended a gift of $41,800 to the University of Oxford to support research on animal welfare. The work will be led by Michael Bonsall, Professor of Mathematical Biology in the Department of Zoology. This funding will support a one-day academic workshop on wild animal welfare as well as pilot research seeking to analyze existing ecological data for information about the welfare of members of various species. This falls within our focus area of farm animal welfare.
