[Navigating Transformative AI] Open Philanthropy recommended a gift of $700,000 over three years to the University of Toronto to support work on AI safety and alignment at the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society (SRI). SRI researches and proposes frameworks for the responsible integration of advanced technology, particularly the development and regulation of AI. This falls within our focus area of potential risks from advanced artificial intelligence.
