[Human Health and Wellbeing] Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $114,353 to the University of Southern California to support scientific activities, led by Professor Jeffrey Klausner, to understand preterm births in lower- and middle-income countries. The IHME estimates that in 2019, preterm births caused 13% of all deaths of children under 5. This falls within our focus area of scientific research, specifically within our interest in advancing human health and wellbeing.
