Compassion in World Farming USA — General Support (2018)
[Broiler Chicken Welfare] Grant investigator: Lewis Bollard This page was reviewed but not written by the grant investigator. Compassion in World Farming USA staff also reviewed this page prior to publication. The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a grant of $1,500,000 over three years to Compassion in World Farming USA (CIWF USA) for general support. CIWF USA has been one of the major contributors to the success of corporate reforms for layer hens, and intends to use these funds to seek implementation of existing cage-free reforms and to secure new corporate broiler welfare reforms. We wrote more about our decision to support CIWF USA in the writeup for our first grant to them, made in April 2016. This grant falls within our focus area of farm animal welfare.
