Rethink Priorities — Research on LLM Use

[Navigating Transformative AI] Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $115,887 to Rethink Priorities to support a series of surveys and interviews led by David Moss on how various groups use and perceive large language models in their professional and day-to-day lives. This grant was funded via a request for proposals for projects studying and forecasting the real-world impacts of systems built from LLMs. This falls within our focus area of potential risks from advanced artificial intelligence.
