[Navigating Transformative AI] Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $200,000 over three years to Arizona State University to support research led by Professor Chaowei Xiao on adversarial robustness in machine learning systems. This falls within our focus area of potential risks from advanced artificial intelligence. Update (March 2024): Dr. Xiao recently transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he will continue his research. The remaining funds for this grant ($180,707) were transferred to UW-Madison.
