Open Philanthropy is a philanthropic funder with the mission “to help others as much as we can with the resources available to us.” Open Philanthropy has committed to a grant to CLTR of £4 million over the next three years. Beyond this, Open Philanthropy will match-fund every £1 from other donors with a further £1, up to £3 million in total. We are very grateful to Open Philanthropy for its decision to support our work. We believe that there is now a crucial window of opportunity to shape the course of AI and biosecurity — to harness the extraordinary positive potential of new innovative technologies, whilst mitigating the extreme risks they pose.
