CSER was founded in 2012 by Huw Price, [Jaan Tallinn](https://forum.effectivealtruism.org/topics/jaan-tallinn), and Lord Martin Rees.\[1\]

## Funding

As of June 2022, CSER has received over $200,000 in funding from the [Survival and Flourishing](https://forum.effectivealtruism.org/topics/survival-and-flourishing) Fund.\[2\]\[3\]
