Notes

[Forecasting] Open Philanthropy recommended two grants totaling $10,080,000 over three years to support the Forecasting Research Institute’s work on projects to advance the science of forecasting and to increase the relevance of forecasting for high-stakes policy decisions. This includes foundational research into the methodological challenges of existential risk forecasts, as well as applied research on estimating such risks, and on the identification of early warning signals. This follows our December 2022 support and falls within our focus area of forecasting.
